Using Recycled Canvases
Using Recycled Surfaces is the cheapest way to create various pieces of art. Look what I found and made...
recycled scrap masonite found in garage.
Old wine bottles, with decoupaged clippings from magazines.
Before I painted this, I found the frame with a scratched up print of a sailboat in a dumpster in Denver. I gave it a completely new look with some oil paint; leaving the edges rough for added charm.
The large blue painting was also done in oil paint. I found the frame in the same dumpster (as the previous frame) a few weeks later.

Mixed Media
I made this for Luke as a gift of apology when we were in our first year of dating. He used to play The White Stripes song Apple Blossom for me. If you've ever listened to the words it's the perfect song for solace...
Apple Blossom
hey little apple blossom
what seems to be the problem
all the ones you tell your troubles to
they don't really care for you
come and tell me what you're thinking
cause just when the boat is sinking
a little light is blinking
and i will come and rescue you
lots of girls walk around in tears
but that's not for you
you've been looking all around for years
for someone to tell your troubles to
come and sit with me and talk awhile
let me see your pretty little smile
put your troubles in a little pile
and i will sort them out for you
i'll fall in love with you
i think i'll marry you
